Scope
To provide financial assistance to former members of the RASC and RCT and their dependants (wives, widows, husband, widowers and offspring under the age of eighteen years) who are in need.
Type of Help
- In cases of proven need, grants are made towards such items as clothing, bedding, provision or replacement of essential domestic equipment, unusually high fuel bills, rent arrears arising from unforeseen circumstances, removal expenses in some circumstances e.g., moving into sheltered accommodation. Modest help is sometimes given towards funeral expenses for ex-servicemen and women or their spouses but such help is by no means automatic.

Scope
Beneficiaries must be those who are eligible for ordinary membership, i.e., ex-servicemen or women or their wives, widows, or dependants (i.e. children of school age). Service may have been, or still be, in any of the Armed Forces of the Crown, Regular, Reserve or Auxiliary, or in the Mercantile Marine afloat during hostilities. Qualifying period is seven days. Note: Applicants do not have to be members of the Legion to qualify, merely eligible to be members or dependants of such people.

Scope
The Association has 450 branches throughout the United Kingdom and 37 branches overseas.
Membership is open to those serving, or who have served in the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, the Reserves of these services, the Women's Services, and their Reserves. There are also Associate and Honorary Members.
Types of Help
There is a limited amount of money available in an Association Fund, to assist where a small branch cannot cope with a particular case. Should either the resources of a branch or the Association Fund be insufficient to meet the requirement, then the case if referred to the Royal Naval Benevolent Trust who arrange for the person in need to be visited, and detailed report made, which is then considered by a Grants Committee.

Scope
The Royal Naval Benevolent Trust exists to help both serving and ex-serving Ratings and other Ranks of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines and their immediate dependants. Dependants are considered to be wives/husbands of those who have served and their children up to the age of eighteen. Eligibility for children may be extended in certain case, particularly when the child has been infirm from birth or still in full time education. Whether or not assistance is given depends upon the circumstances of the applicant, the criteria which may be in force at the time and most important of all the discretion of the Grants Committee.
